Psychologist, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, EMDR, Hypnosis
I can provide therapy in three languages, English, Icelandic and Norwegian.
I am originally trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy but have since developed my skills to include both EMDR and Ericksonian hypnosis.
I’ve worked extensively with people suffering from chronic and/or terminal illness, more specifically many types of cancers, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), both sudden and chronic heart conditions, obesity and addiction. Trauma of any kind, be it old or new, physical or emotional, has been a big part of my practice so far, grief in many forms, anxiety, depression, phobias, sexuality, and various emotional and communication skills.
Every relationship is a collaboration, and so it depends on the type of problems, your thinking style and level of comfort what approach we take, but at the end of the day I take a rather functional approach to therapy. My aim as a therapist is to figure out where you are, where you want to be and what it is that you need in order to get there. And then work in collaboration with you to get you there. A privilege indeed, on my behalf.
